L'Huile de Leonor Greyl was first born during a trip to the West Indies in the 1970s. Finding himself stranded during a hurricane, Mr. Greyl noticed that the rain seemed to run down the leaves off the palm trees without ever wetting them. The plant's incredible properties inspired him to use its oil in a haircare product that would protect hair by forming a waterproof barrier around each strand.
Applied on the beach between swims, in salons as pre-color protection, or at home to repair hair, this oil quickly became a favorite. In 2013, palm oil was removed from our formula in favor of two new power house ingredients: coconut and mongongo oil.
